Laura Elizabeth Ingalls Wilder was born in Pepin, Wisconsin on February 7th 1867. We visited Pepin on our trip and it was a beautiful place. We went to the cabin (rebuilt) where Laura was born and saw the "Big Woods", the grounds were well kept and there was no fee charged to visit the cabin.

This is where Laura was born in 1867, the grounds were very well kept and the cabin has been recently rebuilt.
